In about three seconds I felt as if I went through the biggest guilt trip of my life. I don't even smoke! No one in my family even smokes, but after watching this I felt as if the reason tons of people die was partially because of me. I know it wasn't, but after reading this small sentence it makes you think. These children have so much to live for, but their hopes and dreams have been cut short because of actions that weren't their fault. By something that is so common as smoking. By something that isn't even illegal. It kind of makes you want to find the nearest person smoking, and put them in a room where the only person they can harm is themselves. This advert made me feel sad and guilty, and it was kind of awing that one sentence can do so much damage. Its sentences such as these that completely change the way you look at things. In three seconds I saw smoking change from something that would make you sick, to something that could kill hundreds of innocent people, who didn't even smoke in the first place.
One thing that really makes an impact, is the lighting. Its all dark, except for the face of the girl, and the smoky halo, which adds an almost innocence to the photo. The lighting makes it look as if the child has almost been in the dark, undiscovered by society. So many people pay no attention to the big issue that is second-hand smoking, and even more people do absolutely nothing about it.
Perfect blog title!
